Portrait of a Pioneer
Kevin Reece, Sivica Homes CEO

Kevin Reece, Sivica Homes.
A native of Atlanta, Kevin Reece is the CEO of Sivica Homes, an award-winning Southeastern home builder.

Recently, Reece took some time to answer a few questions regarding his home building experience and what Sivica Homes brings to the Atlanta real estate market.

Why did you want to become a builder?
The most satisfying part of being a builder and developer is the opportunity to create living environments for people. There is an incredible sense of personal fulfillment in watching people enjoy the community design, the recreational and social amenities, the shopping centers and the homes we create.

What is your personal relationship/background with the city of Atlanta?
I was born and raised in Cobb County and have observed the phenomenal growth of Atlanta for over four decades. Even though Atlanta has experienced economic cycles like the rest of the U.S., we have maintained a very diverse economy and continued to sustain positive economic growth. We continue to have wonderful advantages for growth given our transportation corridors, quality airport, and affordability relative to other markets. Also, our climate and lifestyle choices have been a major draw for families and businesses relocating from other areas of the country.

What makes the Atlanta real estate market so exciting to you as a builder?
The size of Atlanta has created a rebirth of many urban areas, with “fresh” growth in older commercial areas. Along  with the continued expansion of Atlanta’s exterior borders, this urbanization will be a major trend, creating the need for denser townhouse and condominium developments to satisfy Atlantans’ lifestyle choices.

What unique qualities does Sivica Homes bring to potential homebuyers?
I started developing shopping centers in the late 1980s and subdivisions in the early ‘90s. We have now moved  toward master-plan communities, which allow people to live, work, shop, and play close to home. These  communities have recreational, social, and retail environments that are purposefully designed for our potential homeowners’ enjoyment. We take great care to understand the needs of our buyers.

What services do you provide to meet the needs of relocating buyers?
Our attention to value separates us from many of our competitors. We provide award-winning home designs in affordable communities with highly relevant amenities for our customers. We also have rejected the cookie-cutter designs offered by many large builders, opting for more inspired architecture without compromising value.

What awards has Sivica Homes won, and why are these, if any, significant to you?
Sivica Homes, although a relatively new builder in the Atlanta market, has more than 75 years of combined experience. It has already been recognized in the Savannah market by the local homebuilder’s association, receiving 1st Place for product design in the $200s. Also, Mulberry Park, our live-work-play community in Braselton, was recently selected by Metrostudy as one of the Top 10 Selling Neighborhoods. Both of these recognitions are a testament to the types of communities and homes we strive to design and build.

What are some of the new developments your company is working on now?
In Canton, Ga., Park Village will be a master-planned community featuring a variety of product styles from ranch to two-story designs and eventually town homes. The community will offer a nine-acre park, grill pavilion, lodge-style clubhouse and fitness center, nature/hiking trail, zero-entry pool and bundled technology package. And located just off of Old National Highway in College Park, Thornwood Park will feature town homes from the $120s and single-family/craftsman homes from the $160s.
