Charleston Walk
Offering Something Extra for Everyone
by Whitney Brennan

In today’s homebuying market, it’s all about the amenities. Buyers like the extras that come with their new homes, and at Charleston Walk, a new residential development in McDonough, there are more than enough amenities to go around. Lawn maintenance, a playground and a cottage-style clubhouse are included here. While these features are certainly enticing, it’s likely you’ll find them at other residential communities. However, what you won’t find in many other neighborhoods is a stocked three-acre pond and two fishing piers. Clearly, Charleston Walk comes with a few “extra” perks.

The bonuses don’t stop there. In addition to the many amenities, Charleston Walk comes with plenty of choices—17 one- or two-story floorplans are available. Priced from the $230s to the $270s, the more than 80 Craftsman-style homes feature options such as master-on-the-main plans, basements, formal living rooms, family rooms, dining rooms, office/bonus rooms and even teen suites. Homes with 3,000 square feet and up to five bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths are available.

The Craftsman-style appearance of the homes gives the community a historic look with plenty of Southern charm. Sod-covered front and back yards and two-car, carriage-style garages offer major curb appeal, and a long list of interior features creates “behind-the-scenes” attraction. The gourmet island kitchen comes complete with corian countertops, tile backsplashes and a decorative vent hood. Jetted tubs, separate glass showers, ceramic tile floors and his/her walk-in closets are just a few of the master suite features, and throughout the house are built-in wall niches, hardwoods, bold trim packages and millwork. Both trey and vaulted ceilings create an open feel—two-story homes also feature a loft space.

By including so many options, Centennial Homes has ensured that there is nothing cookie-cutter about its community. Rosemary Spence, a Metro Brokers/GMAC agent with the property, says, “The builders have a variety of exterior elevations and features to make homes different, offering exterior materials such as Hardiplank siding, board and batting, shake, stone and brick. In addition, buyers can choose from a variety of pastel colors, so each home has its own unique look and feel.”

The neighborhood is perfect for families, because in addition to having space and amenities designed for all ages, good schools are nearby—McDonough Elementary School, Henry Middle School and Henry High School are minutes away. Further, with sidewalks and streetlights, Charleston Walk offers an ideal sense of community, and its location offers added convenience. A Publix shopping center is across the street, and a library and sports complex are located nearby. Less than five miles away is McDonough Square, which hosts events throughout the year, such as Karaoke on the Square, Jazz on the Green and the Geranium Festival.

Amenities, choices, convenience…the list of perks goes on and on at Charleston Walk. “With its historic feel achieved through Craftsman architecture, its modern conveniences and variety of floorplans, Charleston Walk offers a home for everyone,” says Spence.
